Why Organic Skincare Is Better
And why we are offering it to our clients!
You might be asking yourself, “What the heck is organic skin care anyway?”
Don’t worry, we got you! We wondered the same thing before we got started.
Our journey began with a need to have a healthier skincare alternative in lockdown. Skincare can be exclusively expensive, chock-full of toxic ingredients, and incredibly overwhelming to know which products are safe and effective.
This is where Flaura was born. Flaura is a spa dedicated to using organic ingredients, a simple and gentle approach, and creating attainable skincare while providing education so you can be empowered to continue taking care of your skin at home.
The main line that we currently use in the spa is from Eminence. Their products are “proudly free of parabens, animal by-products, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, harmful colorants and fragrances, mineral oils, petroleum, and other harsh cosmetic chemicals”. They are also a B Corp to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. They use wind and solar energy and plant a tree for every product sold. We also use Glamology and create our own masks, scrubs, and oils using organically sourced ingredients.
“Why is this important?” you may ask.
Well, for a lot of reasons. Let us explain.
Clean skincare has been on the rise for decades and there is a reason. Traditional skincare that can be easily found in a drugstore or even a luxury department store is wildly unregulated and can contain ingredients with carcinogens and endocrine disruptors that are harmful to your overall health. Companies can also get away with labeling their products as “green” or “clean” in a process called “greenwashing” to lead consumers to believe they are buying an alternative that is better for themselves and the environment.
Um… so not cool.
And also so confusing and overwhelming. We are hoping to take the confusion out of clean skincare for you by showing you the ingredients we use, why they are effective, and how you can make educated decisions when you are being berated with jargon from the beauty industry.
Skincare can be simple and honestly, less is more. If the ingredients are the best quality and providing your skin with the nutrients it needs, you shouldn’t need a 5,000 step routine.
What does it mean when we say organic?
Organic means that there are no pesticides or harmful chemicals and sourced from the best resources available. We are constantly trying to learn more and offer the best to our clients so if there is something you would like to see on our offerings, please let us know!
In summary,
organic skincare means you don’t have to compromise your health to see results. You also don’t have to spend a fortune or use a ton of different products. When the ingredients are potent and beneficial, no need to get overly complicated.

We believe skincare shouldn’t be full of harmful chemicals, exclusively expensive, or overwhelming. This is why we have decided using organic skincare is better than the alternative and are dedicated to teaching you how you can implement these products in your home.
