We all love to go to the spa or the salon and get pampered, but let’s be honest, it’s not always feasible to go often. So, here is our guide for the ultimate at-home facial. We hope that by giving you the tools you need, we can empower you to create a routine that is beneficial for your state of mind and your skin. We recommend doing the full routine at least once per week for best results! Enjoy!

Step One: Cleanse

Use a milky or gentle cleanser and start with damp skin. Use the pads of your fingers to gently massage the cleanser for about 60 seconds in upward circular motions. This will remove any dirt, debris, and makeup from the day.

Step Two: Exfoliate

If you are using a physical exfoliant such as a scrub or sponge, only do about once per week. If you have sensitive skin we recommend using a chemical exfoliant such as Lactic Acid or an AHA/BHA. You can use a face halo or gentle cloth to take away the excess product.

Step Three: Cleanse Again

With an oil cleanser or gentle cleanser, clean you skin a second time using circular, upward motions. After you have exfoliated, you have exposed the pores more clearly and now you can really clean the deeper layers of debris that may have been hiding before.

Step Four: Mask

Use a mask that will meet your current skincare needs. Example: If you have dry/ dehydrated skin, try a moisturizing mask, if you have some acne or flare ups, try a clarifying mask, and if you need some brightening, try an antioxidant mask. Leave on your skin for up to 20 minutes. If you want to make it really luxurious, you can soak a washcloth in some cool water with a couple drops of lavender essential oil and place it over your eyes while you let the mask do its work.

Step Five: Tone

Remove the mask with a gentle cloth or face halo, and spritz with a hydrating spray or toner to prep the skin for moisturizing.

Step Six: Treat!

Use a serum or combination of serums to do the heavy lifting and create change in your skin. Again, use a serum that targets your current skin care needs. If you are dry and dehydrated try hyaluronic acid, vitamin c for brightening dull skin, niacinamide for clearing acne and texture. Gently pat the serum into your damp skin with the pads of your fingers. This would also be a good time to use a facial roller if you have one or you can gently massage your facial muscles with your finger tips. This helps clear out any lymph under the skin and brings circulation through the layers of your skin.

Step Seven: Moisturize

You can use a cream or an oil but be sure to use oil based products after water based products because they will act as a seal and anything you put on top will not be able to penetrate your skin. You can also put a couple drops of oil in your moisturizer to give it an extra boost.

If you are going outside after this please be sure to use an SPF at the end and if not, you are ready for bed!
